Lets all admire artist : Leslie Oschmann

Monday, 26 May 2014

Monday inspiration - Artist Leslie Oschmann. wow her work is beautiful, after I discovered her work through Pinterest I felt the urge to immediately check out her website and see more. Leslie's work has had me thinking about new possibilities for vintage furniture... maybe learning a new skill in decoupage, could be interesting using old maps or newspaper illustrations, but I cant imagine them coming out look as amazing as these though, but worth a try.

Leslie relocated from the states to Holland where she set up her studio in Amsterdam, she finds old furniture and paintings at the local flea markets and revamps them, giving them a unique twist.

I love the way she has used full size images on these chairs and used different angles for the top, to make them current and fun. hope you guys feel inspired and give you a creative boost. Happy Monday!

Pineapple Crush

Wednesday, 23 April 2014

Thinking of summer with all the bright colours popping up everywhere I look. I cant help but notice the pineapple and tropical trends that seem to be taking over in the interior world. I'm a huge fan of fruit inspired prints, décor and colour schemes, they always but a smile on my face (and instantly want a pina colada, like you do) I think using tropical prints and exotic home décor is a great way to turn your garden, summer house and conservatory into your own tropical paradise for the summer and would set the scene for dinner parties and gatherings. I've put together a mood board of what I think is the best of the pineapple bunch, let me know if you are crushing on this trend...

From top left Zara Home - Pineapple print cushion cover- £25.99, Zara Home - Pineapple tumbler and wine glass - £1.99 - £3.99, Zara Home - Pineapple Basket - £49.99, Rose and Grey - Pineapple Box - £18.50, Found on www.hearthomemag.co.uk  - Pineapple Cushion - £135, Found on www.onekingslane.com - Pineapple wall sconce - no price.

Studio Daze

Wednesday, 16 April 2014

It's been a long time since I've wrote a post and I'm so sorry, I've been working like a crazy women over the past month, plus been on a trip to Copenhagen which was one of the best cities I've ever been to ( ill dish all the deets later ) but today I want to share my love and shall I say a big goal of mine to own my own studio.

As I have been working a lot lately its had me thinking about workspaces and how important it is to feel happy where your working, (I've basically spent a month painting in a cow barn, which was freezing and full of cobwebs, yep nice I know) your workspace should lift you when you're struggling for answers, to look up at your walls and feel inspired. Do you look forward to working in your office/workspace? Or could you make it more inviting. There seem to be so many inspiring beautiful studios out there that I like and could picture myself working quite happy in, here are just a few, let me know which one is your favourite?

Through the Looking-glass

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

I'm a huge fan of open spaces, light and the feeling of creating rooms with furniture rather than brick walls, are you ? but sometimes open living can make your space look a little lost or maybe you feel that you would like some kind of wall division but you want to still hold that light airy feel, you may just love these glass wall panels that I have been adoring over at Pinterest, giving you that perfect open planed feel, they look great in old buildings with lots of character for that mind blowing contrast 'of something old next to something new' look, to me that's always a win win situation and of course they look fab in contemporary minimal interiors too.

I wish I could have a glass wall like these ones; it gives a dramatic effect in such a simple way. I'm totally in love right now!

Weather you love country chic or rustic industrial interiors there is something for everyone and you can see that these super cool glass panels fit into to pretty much any surrounding which makes me love them a little more, how do you feel about the glass wall ?

Today we have put together some of our favourite vintage home wares fresh from the shop. Lately we have been drawn by smoked blue linens, old white china and petite glass perfume bottles.  These muted tones work well with natural light interiors and bare wooden surfaces for a more rustic look. We also have introduced some women's wear to the shop, we couldn't resist these pretty vintage blouses, could you?

Elegant oyster white and French grey tea set, grey Monday tablecloth, ivory Selfridge blouse, pale tinted goblet glasses, smoked scalloped blouse, glass jelly mould, petite femme perfume bottle and champagne rose embroidered trinket.

Psss..... for more deets or to buy head over to the shop , these beauties wont be there for long!

Enjoy your day.
