Nothing is better than sleeping through the summer nights with thin crisp bed sheets with a hint of scented lavender to help you sleep through the warm air. Linen water is a great way to keep all your linens, bedding and rooms smelling fresh. There are lots of linen waters out there to buy, but they can be expensive and especially if you want to use your scented linen water on a daily basis. I've found a really easy recipe for creating your own linen water and you can make as many different variations as you want, personally I would make lavender for bed linen, rose for room fragrance and even a citrus for the bathroom. If you have guest's that are staying this is a great way to keep their room fresh and make them feel welcome.

Recipe : : for scented linen water

1 tsp of essential oils (your choice)

1/4 cup unflavoured vodka (acts as an amulsifier and helps the solution dry faster)
3 1/2 cups filtered water

Directions:

1. Mix the vodka and your choice of essential oils in the bottle.

2. Then, add distilled water to the bottleuntil it is almost full.

3. Screw on the cap and shake the bottle to disperse the oils evenly throughout.

4.Shake lightly before each use. Use a bottle that has a fine mist to ensure proper dispersion of the spray.

(For an alcohol-free mixture omit the vodka, but make sure to shake rigorously before spraying, since the oil and water will separate.)

Finishing touches

I would look out for vintage or vintage inspired apothecary bottles in different shapes and sizes, adding ribbons or natural twine bows for decoration, finishing off with brown luggage tags labelling each scent. Perfect now you have a summer botanical garden right at your fight tips.
